Is it normal that i wish inanimate objects felt pain

Sometimes when something like my phone pisses me off by screwing up or not cooperating, i wish so badly that it was alive so that i could inflict pain upon it and hurt the shit out of it. I've had this thought ever since i was a kid. i don't hurt things that actually are alive like you would think.

I should write an app for you. You type in a number from 1 to 9 (depending how angry you are) and the phone responds with mild distress (for a 1) building up to a full-on shriek of pain (for a 9).

You need to make this a reality.

Really? People would want this? I can't think of a simpler app to write. Hmm, would you want the phone to display an image making it look like the screen had been attacked too (with a number 9 being completely shattered)?

It doesn't make a difference to me. If i hit my elbow on the doorknob going out of a room, i turn around and deck the frecking thing! I don't care if it feels or not!

I know. Me too! I used to threaten my computer and tell it I would replace it with a mac. I just make myself believe that it does, so then that way, when I hit it, I can at least feel like I'm hurting it.

Hurting phones makes no sense to me, that leaves you pissed off even more because you now have no phone!

Although when I stub my toe on the couch I wish it hurt the couch as much as me sometimes if that counts!

    • Its not that i want to break the object, i just with it felt pain so that i could punish it for doing what it wants instead of what you wanted it to do.

I know a few people that throw their phones when the device does something unsatisfactory.
Unfortunately, throwing your phone will not stop it from doing what it does to piss you off and in the event that it does, it will stop doing everything else too.

Well thanks to the wonders of bullshit philosophy, your dreams are already a reality:

The first one is posits that all matter knows what the fuck is going on, the second one is slightly more reasonable, and just says that they're alive. Remember, the people who come up with this stuff aren't shitmunchers like you and me, they're philosophers with Phds, so you can trust them

My brother wishes all manner of atrocities on inanimate things that don't comply with his wishes. His diatrabes leave me both highly amused and also with a slightly sick feeling. He's disturbingly creative. And graphic.

You need an iPhone bro... you won't have much problems with it... the only problem is you can't literally do anything with an iPhone =P
