Is it normal that i will only use plastic silverware?

I can't stand to have metal in my mouth. I don't like the taste of it or the feel of it. It feels weird against my teeth. And it doesn't make any sense, because I have old-school metal fillings in my teeth still from when I was a little kid and they don't bother me. I have a whole drawer full of metal silverware at my house, but I still will only use plastic at home. I'll have people over and they think I'm crazy when they see me eating with my plastic forks and spoons.

Normal. I use plastic eating utensils as well. Keep using them if they're more comfortable to you and forget about what others think. Also, this post reminds me of that time I ate an entire plastic fork. It was a dumb thing to do because it gave me a really bad stomach ache. lol

I like metal silverware as long as it is soft and well polished and high quality. And the correct shape,so that it fits well in the mouth. I dont like forks that are too long or spoons that are too wide or big. Butter knives that are too sharp are also bad

But one thing i HATE is when you accidentally bite down HARD on metal silverware. That is the worst.

Plastic isn't Silverware. It's Plasticware. True Silverware is no longer silver generally but at least both Silver and metals are on the element table unlike plastic.

It isn't silverware, it's Plastic ware.

I have olive-wood spoons I enjoy ice cream with occasionally, I certainly wouldn't call that Silverware

No, it's Silver Plasticware with your logic.

I will call it Plasticware because it's my belief the the term you use is outdated although it is a far stretch to call it Plasticware (a term pulled out of my ass) I find it equally far stretched to call it Plastic Silverware.

There is no plastic in silverware and no silver in plasticware.

Silverware gets the distinction here because Silver(root) is part of the table of elements whereas plastic is synthetic. They are both "wares" and "tools" per say.

I will not label my fine olive-wood utensils "Wooden Silverware" as you would call it "Plastic Silverware" Not going to happen, I spent too much money on those.

Well i actually do call it Plastic Silverware. That and sometimes i also call it Plastic utensils or plastic eating utensils.

But plastic silverware sounds correct to me. Silverware to me means any eating utensils basically. Although it is obviously most accurate when the material actually is silver, or some metal at a minimum.

One day I wil buy a genuine set of Silverware and throw all the odds and ends I have away. The "Fine Bone China" dish set I bought now half broken. Anyone snags my silverware they are liable to get shot, I dispise/dispose of thiefs
