Well as you can see people on this site can be kinda assholes, but yeah it's normal to wear a collar. Idk if you're approaching this from more a stylistic or a fetish standpoint but either way it's pretty damn harmless.

Fuck the haters, do what you want.

Yes. There are certain fashions that can successfully blend the collar in. Some good examples are Punk and Goth. For instance, if you tried wearing a collar while wearing something classy in a outside setting it wouldn't work right. It would clash with the dressy attire and make you stand out.

Why not? Some collars look nice. It's just an accessoire.

I'm not sure how others would react but I wouldn't think anything of it if I saw someone wearing a collar. If you want to do it, I say do it.

Get it gold plated and people will think you are a guido instead of an S&M.

      lol

@OP, if you really want to go extreme with the BDSM, start wearing a burka then niqab.

A latex Burqa is good idea but the OP will get a lot of stares and possibly hassled. I follow this blog on bloodspot of a submissive who's in a 24/7 relationship and her master will only let her outside in a Latex Burqa. She has gotten a lot of stares and there have even been people who have literally followed her and her master around; spying on them trying to see what they are up to. It makes me so mad that people can be this silly >_< Another, problem with wearing the Burqa is the risk that people will get offended at you for not being a Muslim. That same submissive has received a lot of criticism for not being a Muslim and wearing one. All of that stress and negativity isn't worth it if you ask me.

Those 7th cecentury throwbacks don't have a monopoly on wearing burqas. If they can wear em anyone can.

no they don't have a monopoly, but those asswipes want to force all women to wear them, fucking 7th century savages.

Muslims can't claim ownership of head-coverings, they exist in various forms around the world. However my jab at Islam was to demonstrate how extremely repressive and misogynistic Islam is towards women.

But in that case muslims are not messing around, they use the head-rag to denote the inferior and subordinate status of women to muslim men while inverting it's meaning. That is claiming it ennobles women.

Actually ennobles is an existing word, check the dictionary, it embiggens us all. :D
