I am 16 and I was very hateful towards the gay community when I was 10-12. I had all the makings of an ignorant hateful homophobe. And when I was 13 I began thinking about myself and at 14 I came out of the closet.
Was this normal? Haha

I think it's great that you came out at such a young age, too. My buddy didn't until he was in his 20's.
U probably were scared of the feelings u were having and didn't admit it to ur self. It's ok
I am a gay guy of 26 and I never had to come out to family or friends. I am really macho and there is no way they could have guessed that I was gay, but my family are very polite and we never spoke about such things.
Once, I took a boyfriend home for a vacation and my parents just accepted him as one of the family and we had a great time.

Good to see more bi-sexual guys here. Personally I've always hated the term, but it does describe me and I'm thinking that it's becoming more acceptable like females who are bisexual.
As to the original post-I think I used to be homophobic when I was young, but I wasn't a major hater like the hardcore homophobes. I was just ignorant about gays when I was a kid. Then when I grew up I realized I was attracted to men too.
It's unfortunate that most people are very close-minded. I was there too so I know how it is. If only humans were better at imagining being in someone else's shoes, then we'd all get along a lot better.

Most in the closet people, seem to make fun/aggresively disagree with homosexuals even more than a normal person in order to draw attention away from thier gay self

I was homophobic because I was taught to be homophobic. Period end of discussion. It took falling madly in love with a female friend to realize how drastically wrong my past impressions had been.
Pretty normal. Often part of the denial process. You're still young and changing. Hell, next year you may be a Republican.
This is totally normal. I always disdained the gay lifestyle -- still do to a certain extent. But it was a gay guy who allowed me to suck his dick and give me my first blowjob. I'm thankful for that, and I love being bi-sexual and having sex with other guys.

I think it's normal I think when you were younger you were afraid of what you were and hatred is an easy way to express those feelings of confusion
haha I'm gay but when I was younger I was a bully I didn't pick on gay kids I didn't even know what gay was but I did pick on nerdy kids
u may be annoyed with the typical flamboyant gays. I personanly am not. But i'm bisexual so i might be biased.
