Is it normal that i want to wear my tail in public?

So, my name is Jay. I am a red fox therian. I have a tail (we think it is a coyote but we are not completely sure) and I really, REALLY want to wear it out. I'm kinda scared of getting made fun of, but I already know it's gonna happen. Other therians wear their tails out buuuut I guess they usually have friends? Lol, I'm kind of a lone wolf and only know other therians online. Someone help?

    Just go ahead and do it! If anyone makes fun of you that’s just them being mean. I wear my tail all the time and people actually compliment me on it. They think it’s cute.

    I wouldn't make fun of you. I wouldn't talk to you and probably cross the street but I wouldn't make fun.

    I think if you go out of your way to be different you shouldn't act suprised when people treat you differently.

            I make the assumption everyone here is grown because it's 18+. That's grown in my definition.
