Is it normal that i want to take adderall?

This is my second year of college, I am currently taking chem, bio, and algebra, and this is just the beginning. Soon i'll be starting my nursing courses and at the present, I have never had so much to study and so much work to do at one time. I have debating on buying adderall from a class mate so that I can power through studying for my exams, but I have never done drugs in my life. Does anyone have experience with this drug? Do you think it is normal for college students to take this?

Try it, if you don't like it, then you know And move onto something else.

Addies do help you stay alert and get things done, but like the other person said, the comedown sucks!

Taking adderall, or anything else, isn't going to help if you don't know the material. You're supposed to learn the course material as you go along, not wait until the last minute and stay up several nights "cramming." If you will concentrate on learning and retaining information, you won't have to "cram" for tests. Nevertheless, taking adderall isn't going to harm you unless you have high blood pressure or heart problems and don't over it.

No. Taking adderall on and off will fuck you up.
They do make over the counter stuff that supposedly works similarly, ADDTabz or there's others.
But do you really need to self medicate just to study???

I'm college age, and this quarter has been very hard for me. I have felt very similar lately.

I wouldn't want to risk it...it can be addictive. I have heard of Profiderall. (sp?) its supposed to be a healthy(er), legal alternative online. Its about 50 bucks and I think I may invest in it myself.

    • If you are talking about "provigil" like I suggested it is not cheap. I get it prescribed and it costs my insurance almost $1000 a month.

Well, I was prescribed aderall for ADHD in high school and, to be honest, it was the worst stuff I ever took. It gave me severe mood swings and sucked all of the fun out of my life. I had to stop taking it, myself. I believe it effects everyone different, though. I don't recommend you buy it from a friend. That does not sound like a good idea, but if you feel like it could help you, talk to your doctor about it.

It will definitely help, but keep in mind that adderall is speed, and speed is addictive.

Speed, or amphetamine, is addictive yes. But the addiction potential is pretty low. And Adderall being a pharmaceutical means that it's pure and not the street shit cut with meth and stuff, so it should be pretty safe. I don't think a few pills through studying is going to start an addiction. But still I don't think doping (even for studying) is a good plan.. But what can I say, I take concerta (methyphenidate) to help me concentrate in school and drink coffee and smoke so there are three stimulants that I use :P

  • I've been prescribed adderall in the past. It helped me get things done but the comedowns sucked. Now I take provigil which I like way better.
