Is it normal that i want to spend my birthday alone?

Is it normal that I want to celebrate my birthday alone? I have planned a day to enjoy with my friends and on the Sunday that my birthday falls on, I want to just go to a hotel and to the beach and enjoy time alone. I value my alone time and I feel like this is the best way to enjoy my birthday. A day away from the stress of school, work, and my relationship. Am I crazy?

Happy birthday! I feel like doing the same but not on my birthday. I feel the need to be alone a couple of hours every day.

I don't think this is very normal, nor do I think it wrong or that you are crazy. It's the one fucking day of the year when you should be allowed to do as you please (within reason, of course), and if friends and family don't understand, that's just too bad. That is what friends and family are supposed to do, right; respect you and your decisions?
So mutter your apologies, book your hotel room at the beach and enjoy your birthday. Happy birthday, by the way.

Anything that floats your boat. You can celebrate with them or especially with me if you changed your mind.
