Is it normal that i want to see the past through my parents eyes?

I wish I could see what life was like before I was born through my own parents eyes. It isn't enough to just know what happened, I genuinely want to SEE exactly what my parents saw, especially the things they saw that no longer happen or exist. I want to see their movie theaters, clubs, parties, high school, other people at the time, all of it.
