Is it normal that i want to see myself as neither gender?

I am biologically female but I want so badly to be able to pass as male and female as I please so badly that I'm thinking about a MAJOR breast reduction to cover that I'm female. I don't like gender labels at all and I want to be seen for me and not for gender. That being said I like both men and women and have had gender issues for quite a while. Is this normal?

You and me both. I'm a dude. But I hate gender and pretty much everything that makes us human. I don't like the inside of the human body and knowing how it works. I don't like sex. I think, as a species, we're pretty disgusting. I wish I was completely genderless, to the point where I simply want to be a robot. I know that's not quite the same as what you're saying but I kinda understand how you feel... Unfortunately. I don't think it is the most normal thing to think. I think a lot of people will stand up for what gender they are.

I thought I was the only one that felt that way! We can't do anything about our biological sex (well maybe surgery) , but I think gender is just stupid. the stereotypes and expectations and blah, blah, blah. I would recommend Googling "genderqueer" and discovering other people who feel the same way as you do. Hope that helped! :-)

so how does this differentiate from androgyny?

Androgyny means having masculine and feminine characteristics. And genderqueer is just an umbrella term for not identifying as a man or woman (both genders or neither gender). So, they're somewhat similar.

quite normal...for some females wanting to pass as male and vise versa and then wants to be the normal gender whenever. i actually would have loved to met a woman that acts like a man and like to do things as a man. i am still single and still looking for that female/male or male thats want to be a female as a ts/tg/tv.

same here I dont really feel like either gender and I dont see why I have to, because I don't care about gender when it comes to love. I wish more people thought like this then genderqueer would be more accepted and people wouldn't have to choose one sex or the other in society. There is a website http://genderfork.com/ that you may be interested in getting fashion ideas from (some may be unusual but there are a lot of nice pics on there). It also helps to know there are others like you and I say its normal.

Darkoil: you have to remember that gender and sex are different things. Sex is xx/xy/other variations (not everyone is born xx or xy) and gender is what you identify as--male, female, neither, etc.

GenderQueer is an umbrella term, not a stand alone identity. You also sound like you could be Androgyne. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Androgyny

You're so normal and it depresses me how so many people voted not normal.

My sister is androgynous/gender queer. She was born as a female named Jen, but since she's discovered she is both gender queer and Asexual. She wants breast reduction, but she makes it clear that she's not transgender. I only wish more people would know this is normal. She says we can continue to refer to her as a her, but has requested we call her Jay, before she changes her name to Allen after the breasts are gone. She doesn't have a gender, but she says shed rather be considered male over female. I just hate it that Jay can't be genderless like she wants, instead of having to choose either or.

"genderqueer" sounds almost like a derogatory term, but I guess not.

  • I feel the same! I love being girly but sometimes I just feel like dressing and looking like a boy! But my parents are very closed minded so I can't.

actually i feel that way too i just wish people could understand it, it's called transgender, i know that sounds like something different but anytime you want to seem or dress like the opposite sex it is normal and it is ok

Gender stereotypes are stupid. Their natural but that doesn't mean that their good. Fortunately they seem to be decreasing. I estimate in about 50-100 years time there will be no gender stereotypes.

Whatever anyone feels they are or how they look in a mirror is un-important when talking about gender. At a chromosomal level males are x-y and females are x-x and chopping your cock off or getting fake titties isn't going to change that.
