Is it normal that i want to live in the city

I really like it when the streets get wet from rain, hearing police cars, listening to cars drive by, and admiring the lights. I live in the middle of no where and I really want to move. So is it normal that i want to live in the city for these reasons?

I love the city too. I love how crazy and alive they are and that they're always buzzing. I love the country too. Nature is fantastic. It's normal to want what you don't have, but it's always good to appreciate what you've already got.:) Both have good and bad things about them.

See, swings and roundabouts! Speaking of, you won't find many of those in the city. Not the fun ones anyway.:P

I'm not much of a city person. I like property and privacy too much. I also don't like people enough to want to be surrounded by them all the time.

Oh hush. I mean like crowds of people in public places outside in the world.

I've lived in both and each have merit but the city is the better. Why? More in the way of opportunities and engagement in culture, education, commerce, politics. Ironically, more privacy - you really have to watch yourself in the country there're very few people and they gossip. Better public services from transit to recreation to health to clean water. There are things you can do in the country that you can't in the city - but you give up more - and it is not as bucolic as often assumed.

Hahahahahaha you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about! I'll trade homes with you, you'll see in less than a month you'll be talking to a lawyer to see if there is any way you can take back the trade.

    I love the city!
I mean...the middle-of-nowhere is so empty. I used to live near the woods. And I can tell you, there's no such a boring thing then living near the woods...

I'd like to live in a city too. Time's I've spent in cities before have been great. You're constantly surrounded by people, but I think that's a good thing. I have no desire to live in the country; I've spent most of my life in a relatively rural town and it's mind-numbingly boring and that's coming from someone who doesn't get bored easily. It's probably why I take to the internet so much. The only problem is that cities are so expensive.

I live in a tropical island where the big city and nature 'live' together. I love nature more than the city.

I think I could adapt. I know I would miss a more desolate setting though.

I live in a city and I like it because there are lot of shops and stuff so you don't have to go anywhere but people in cities are assholes.

Sounds like my life. I live in the heart of one of the biggest cities in my country and I love it. It's noisy and the buses (every two minutes) and police sirens (several times every day) do get on your wick occasionally but there's a kind of bustle and energy that I feed off (and that my family and friends couldn't cope with). Sometimes it's not enough for me and I find myself wanting to live in one of the world's biggest cities. I don't mean a London or New York City. I mean a properly big city like a Shanghai. I love the idea of nearly twenty million people in my vicinity. Twenty million!

  • I can appreciate a city... but I wouldn't want to live there. Not that it's a bad thing to want to live in the cities... I mean, what would a city be if it didn't have people who wanted to live there? For me, personally, I enjoy countryside and the sea.

I've always thought I wasn't a city person but lately I've been thinking of moving to a nice inner city easy care apartment. I'd really miss my shed though.
