Is it normal that i want to live in france?

I'm American and I plan on learning French because I would like to move to France when I'm finiacially able. Can you tell me anything about France? What is it like living there? Have you ever lived there or currently reside there? Do you like/love/hate it and would you recommend it to Americans wanting to live abroad and renouce citizenship? What are some pros and cons of living there? I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions. Answers or links related to living in France are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much :).

I've lived for short periods in both countries while being foreign to both so I think I can be somewhat objective.

Some cons would be: The roads are worse and so is the traffic, general traffic chaos is tolerated more though there are less deaths, The french language can be difficult due to the native french speaking very fast in words that all run together and the cost of living is quite a bit higher.

Pros: Airports are MUCH better (less security nightmare), The health care system is much better, The food and wine are vastly better, architecture is better, more historical landmarks, people are more intellectually inclined in general, people seem to be happier overall, people are fairly welcoming, less racism, great bread.

I often felt like there was less of a security state presence in France then I did in America. In general I felt more free though I wouldn't say that always true. I did see police harassing someone at one point but overall I would say they are less authoritarian than the USA.

My advice is you might be a bit happier in France but there is no need to renounce your citizenship. Also I wouldn't pin your hopes of happiness on a set location. Happiness mostly comes from friends, being part of community and achieving your goals.

Personally I don't like the French. Not going to tar them all with the same brush but what I have learnt is that the French are cocky, arrogant, they stink, disrespectful and the language is a ballache to learn. However, cigarettes and alcohol is cheep. Prostitution is legal and its regularly available. France is a big country just avoid paris, its full of graffiti and its a shit hole.

It depends on where in France you want to live, not all places are the same and for European measures it's a large country.

Someone wearing a burqa doesn't have to be a terrorist, but indeed they are tolerant in this.

Europe has been overrun by terrorist immigration and America is in the process of bending over backwards for them. Do u support the jihadis?

I certainly do not support the jihadis, but I also disagree that Europe has been overrun by terrorist immigration. Sure, there always are a few, but no more than anywhere else. Most muslims that live here are just nice and peaceful people, certainly not jihadis.

Paris is a shithole. If you move go towards the south.

Not normal at all. France is a low life place with low life people. I hate french and france. Call me a racist. See if I care.
