Is it normal that i want to live in a different time period?

Just recently I've fallen in love with everything about the late 1970's and early 1980's after watching the movie Super 8. I did more research on the time period and the more I found out about it the more I wanted to live then. I've even been buying clothes and things that were commonly found then. Does this happen to anyone else?

I want to live in the 1500's for the solitary living and manual way of life. Money wasn't a huge necessity, it was more of a small community working together to survive. It seems so cozy. I think I'd like the feel of it.

The 1970's and 80's aren't too different from these days politically and financially. Frankly, it sucks. But the clothing style and the music is definitely something I highly enjoy even today. The culture is good, the real life situations of it, not so much.

the 1980s would definetly be an awesome time to live in! Even though i was born in the early 90's (Sometimes i wish it was 1972) ,the 80's definelty sound like an awesome time to be a teen, and by 1990, i would be in my twenties.

but.....its 2011, and im only 19. oh well, cell phones, and the newest laptops are awesome!

Movies tend to glamorize time periods.

      OMG Yes!

You must remember that nostalgia often preserves only the golden times and brushes the bad things up under the rug.

Sure I love 80s music. I grew up with it after all. And the way I dress really is 80s... I don't have my denim jacket anymore but back then I normally wore t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers... which is what I wear most times these days too.

However remember not everything from the 80s and 70s was good.

Great idea, I was around in the 1970's and I can guarantee you it was a better time than we are having right now. If I could go back I would do it in a new york minute.

I can relate, I'd live to live in the early 19th century - I think it would be really interesting.

I'd love to be born in the 40's and live my 20's throughout the 60's, it appeals to my really romantic side I hide from the entire world, all I want is to dance in a flowing dress with the man of my dreams to Cheek to Cheek (Frank Sinatra's version)

I prefer now. I mean no Internet, no iPhone, no cheap air-tickets, etc?
    Thanks but no thanks.
