Because people can't understand the rules of a debate. The main one is that people have different points of view. But yeah just downvote what you disagree with, cos that will definitely make an impact
And here's your proof. They downvote because they disagree. So, as I said, they can't understand the rules of a debate. Downvoting is when you disrespect the rules or behave inappropriately or indecently, not when you have another point of view. But some people don't get that.
