Is it normal that i want to be hypnotised?

Hey all, I am 21 almost 22 and I have been thinking about hypnosis a lot in the past year. I don't talk about it a lot with my real life friends because they it's weird.

So I leave it you, IIN: Is it normal to want to be hypnotised?

It only works of you really want it to be true

Are you sure it's not more like it only works if you are not resistant?

If you're not actively trying to be hypnotized, you probably won't be.

@seekhelp well then it should work me :D

It could be fun. Giving up control for a few hours is definitely appealing lol

It's not that interesting, it's just deep relaxation.

Not at all. I want to know what weird and dark shit I got locked away in there.

Would be interesting to remember my childhood. Most of it is blocked.

Might be for good reason. Our brain only means to protect us.

Tbh I think that's right. Let's just say my dad did not make my childhood happy.

But I want to know just the same why I've blocked out most of my childhood. So I'd hypnosis for that before any other "adult" sessions.

I wouldn't want to be hypnotized. But my degree required a course in hypnosis and it's pretty interesting. But, in practice, it's really hard to get someone truly under hypnosis. I'm guessing a big portion of people who charge to do hypnosis are charlatans.

I'd do it just for kicks.

But being hypnotised can be scary because once under you are open to suggestion so anything could happen. That is what's holding me back.

But I do want to see a verified hypnotist since therapy has not worked in unlocking my childhood memories.

It's bullshit. Like equal rights or horoscopes.

$150.00 for an hour to see a shrink to "see if I could be hypnotised(sic)".
Hey, it's your money. I can certainly find a lot better uses for that kind of money, but as I said......

Never said anything about money -_-

For the unblocking memories yeah I'd have to pay money but the hypnotist would have to be a verifiable licensed one.

Are there back room hypnotists I don't know about somewhere? You are just going to trust some abortion type back room doctor to hypnotize you? Good plan!

  • I dont think it works on me. I feel aware of my subconscious anyway. Ive tried it with people before as an experiment and it doesnt work.
