Is it normal that i want to be gothic?

I have blonde hair and blue eyes but I cannot help wanting to be gothic. I don't know what drives me to this decision but it just makes me happy. I think being emo is a bit extreme and love to smile but I want to dye my hair brown or black and wear green contacts. Black and purple are my fave colours and black suits me well. Is this normal?

    I would go for it.
I'm a goth myself and I have gone through that time too, thinking whether I should change my appearance or not. The look is generally very flattering when done right, and I know I felt much better about myself after I started wearing the clothes and dyed my hair.

'Gothic' doesn't really mean anything except for an extinct people/language or architectural style. Just concentrate on being yourself. You are bound to find that more rewarding than trying to ally yourself with some adolescent imaginary lifestyle.

I thought being a goth was a personality sort of thing? I mean, I don't really myself a goth, even though I sort of look like one a bit. If it's your style, then go for it. I don't wear "goth" clothes, although I really like them. If you like them too, then it's your decision. If you want to wear them, then I say go for it!:)

yeah I agree with bananaface, goth is a personality, a subculture. Their fashion is just one expressive element of that.
