You're not officially together therefore not worthy of facebook.

I want to be a Facebook Official and penalize people for posting disturbing/retarded statuses.

"Penalty! Roughing the user. 5 yards!"

This comment is really two-dimensional. Not to mention, poor analogy.

Analogies don't explain everything, because if they did, the answer to this question would be obvious. And you wouldn't be on the internet communicating with people, because your awful manners only makes you sound like a "f*cking kid"... who, traditionally, only know how to think in stereotypes and stereotypes regarding relationships.

"F*cking kids" also make conclusions based on stereotypes and stereotypes regarding relationships, which unfortunately, only puts you in that very same category of the "f*cking kids".

According to his facebook he's single?
Kill his dog and string it up then destroy his beloved car.
This guy is asking for it.
Do you have babies with him yet? If so I'll see you on the news.
How dare he. Nothing but a male slut.
    You make me sick!

I think when you are officially together, it's normal to want this to be recognized officially on Facebook.

It's not a retarded "Facebook Thing", rather, Facebook is symbolic nowadays for officially acknowledging something to the public. If that's supposedly "retarded", then so are other forms of making something "official to the public" also retarded.. like, for example, having someone witness your marriage. Having the public attend your school graduation as you walk across the stage to receive your certificate. Coming out of the closet as gay or lesbian (i.e. why was the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" thing such a big deal for both liberals and conservatives???)

If it's "stupid" to want your relationship officially recognized on Facebook, then everything I posted in the above paragraph is also "stupid". Also, official public recognition of some sort shows he isn't ashamed of being with you. Humans are individuals, but also need some form of official community acceptance.

In other words, anyone who says you're "stupid" or "retarded" for wanting your relationship to be official on Facebook... just remember they are really describing themselves because of the very definition of stupid: lacking in thinking ability.

Just remember that your relationship needs to be official with each other first, either by asking the other person or talking about it. Otherwise, an official Facebook status without it first being official between you two defeats the initial purpose.
