Is it normal that i want to be engaged for over two years?

I really want to get engaged because I want to start planning as early as possible, but I don't want to get married until spring of 2014. I think just being engaged will be nice for a while, and dont feel the rush to get married ASAP. I also would prefer to have enough time to save so that we don't go into a lot of debt. Is it normal to plan on being engaged for two and a half years or is that crazy?

    It sounds like a pretty good idea to me. I think the longer you wait, the more you get to know each other, in two years time if things don't work out so well, you don't have to go through the divorce.

    good for you at least you will know each other well by then and jumping into it can end badly sometimes you have to look to see if your jumping onto rocks
