Is it normal that i want to be alone all the time?

The last 2 years have been hectic for me (college, work, family, basic stresses everyone deals with in life...)

Anyway...
Lately, it feels like an obligation to hang out with my friends. And every time I'm done hanging out with someone, I feel relieved and I hear a voice inside my head that says: "Great, now I don't have to hang out with him/her for at least another month or so..."

And no, there's nothing wrong with my friends. I used to love going out, hanging out, conversing, friend dinners, etc.

I don't feel like that anymore, though.
I would just rather be home, ALONE, and watch Netflix or sleep or look at pics on 9gag.

Bottom line, I don't like human interaction anymore.

Is this just a phase? IIN? I'm a 24 year-old female.

Buy a cat. They are for people like you.

No, I don't find that relaxing. I like cats as much as I like kids, if you know what I mean.

I wonder how much the internet has to do with your reluctance to be social.

It's a contribution, but a small one. Even if I don't have the internet, I'd rather take a nap, listen to music, or find something else relaxing to do. I've been hanging out with people almost every day the past week and I'm OVERLY excited to be by myself tomorrow.

I'm the same age in exactly the same situation. I used to let it bother me because other people act like it's not normal to be introverted. But I realize now that as long as I'm happy, who cares what other people think? If you're content with yourself, don't let it bother you.

It's normal. There are introverts and extroverts. Personally, as much as I love having company sometimes, I prefer having 'me' time a whole lot more.

I've had that problem where I constantly felt obligated to spend time with people, and then I got frustrated because I never had time for myself. I'm introverted by nature, so I make an effort to spend time around people when I can. But you'll never please everyone, and it's not your job to keep everyone happy. If your friends really appreciate you, they will understand that sometimes you need alone time, and they won't get offended by it. Just remember that your own happiness is just as important as theirs.

I have but one friend and I haven't seen him since March. Where do you find the time for more than that? Also, kitties aren't that obnoxious, they spend most of their time either outdoors or asleep. Myself, I find that there are too many things I want to learn for me to spend time too much time on others.

Normal =/= healthy. People are important. Either consider therapy or take up a hobby that you're into. Maybe it's a group of people who would just watch Netflix or whatever.

You said earlier in your post something about work, college and family. What about those? I assume people are involved in all three, somehow.
