Is it normal that i want to be a fictional character?

So from a young age I've always wanted to be someone else. I have a very obsessive personality, and I tend to grab hold of a person, real or not, and obsess about them for a period of time, to the point of wanting to be them.
In the past, I've wanted to be Da Vinci, Darwin, Einstein and Tesla (those are the real people)
The fictional people I've wanted to be are Hermione Granger, Sherlock Holmes, Loki and Jim Moriarty.
Is it normal for me to want to be these people so badly? I would literally give years of my life.

Yeah; sometimes I want to be the characters in my own stories.

We are all fictional characters in our own way.

Tesla was a dude. I'd definitely like being him. Or even to have met him.

I want to be a Starfleet officer from an awesome race of ancient, superpowered telepaths with an interesting background story and marry Lt. CMDR Data.

Alas :( some dreams just can't be.

Jim Moriarty? Is he related to Colin Moriarty by any chance?

Umm nope he's James Moriarty from the Sherlock Holmes novels, but the BBC's Sherlock instead.
In the books he had a brother with the same name..
