Is it normal that i want to adopt but i'm worried about it?

Hi. I'm 19 years old and when I'm older I want to adopt a older child from foster care. The thing is though, I'm worried that the child won't look up to me as his or her mother and not love and appreciate me. I'm also worried that the child will always keep his/her distance from me and not bond with me. Are my fears normal?

    It's better to have adopt a child from a very young age so they don't really know who her parents are.

    With older kids you always run the risk of them not acknowledging you as a parent and i can see that as being stressful.
