Is it normal that i want my significant other to take control of me?

I have always been submisive but not just sexually. I have always loved the thought of having a guy who has control over me. I have been dating my boyfriend for 8 months and he loves taking the dominant role. He corrects me when I'm wrong and punishes me when I do wrong. I feel it makes us closer and prevents fights; because when I get cranky he simply spanks me and I'm calm again. He loves me and would never actually hurt me and it makes me feel so secure knowing that I have a man who loves me enough to trea me like gold and protect me from everything, even myself. He makes me write lines, stand in the corner, gives me lickens (spankings) and sends me to bed. But *I* am the one who asked for it to be this way. We both love it. Is this normal?(h, and he ALWAYS waits till he is not mad and would never hurt me out of anger. He is an excellant boyfriend)

    There's a lot of people who enjoy that sort of lifestyle, so that's great y'all enjoy it. Only I'm a switch, so sometimes I feel the need to be in charge, and other times I feel the need to be in a position similar to yours.
