Well, when you don't engage in PDA it's generally a sign of respect. I'm not single, i'm in great loving relationship, so don't assume I'm being bias lol But there are alot of single peope out there that are hurt by seeing stuff like that. (Lonely, you know) I actually have a friend who recently got a boyfriend, she's keeps Jumping up on his hips and making out and such while were hanging out with friends, and they're single, and they feel like she's not respecting them. Also, he may feel he's respecting you. Alot of guys will just grab their womans chest out in public and be all "Uh huh, mine." Which I view as pretty lame lol I don't know, my opinion, I'm sure he would just love to 'take you' Anytime, but social protocal begs to differ

Yes it's normal to want him to be more affectionate but make sure not to go too far remember your not the only one in the world and some people(especially older people) find that inappropriate

It's totally normal to want your special someone to PROVE to you that he is yours, and you are his. Nothing wrong with that!! PDA's are nice! Just don't get carried away and you'll be fine!

it makes other people uncomfortable, and to be honest I find it trashy to have a make out session in a public place.

It's normal. He could just be a private person. He might feel that being very affectionate should only be in the privacy of ones home. You seem to be the opposite, which is perfectly fine too.

Why don't you tell him how you feel?

You can take a horse to water, but you can't make it participate in an orgy. Not without hallucinogens, anyway. Even then, it's liable to lead to broken bones or a missing knuckle.

When I read PDA I thought you meant Personal Data Assistant :/

to be honest, i still have no idea what PDA means, i just "assumed" a meaning from the context of the story.

        Public Display of Affection

I too used to think that it meant Personal Data Assistant, even when used in this context. My thought 2 years ago would have been "Just buy the damned thing yourself, I don't understand what this has to do with electronics".

Its normal, some people like that, you among them. Unfortunately it seems your husband is rather shy about showing his affection in public.
Have you tried taking the initiative in semi-public settings(e.g. the cinema(Hint: not at a movie he was really looking forward to))?
