Is it normal that i want i look like a threat

I want to look like a threat so my co workers will stop harassing me. I've already told my supervisor but he doesnt believe me. And i dont want to quit because i dont want to feel like a coward. I wonder if i cut my hair short and add crazy designs on my head would they see me as more of a threat and leave me alone?

My contact lens isn't in properly so my vision a bit blurry. When I saw your story I wondered exactly how you planned to look like a throat.

Heh! It was a full minute before I'd realised and I even started writing a response about gluing papier-mâché tonsils to the side of the OP's head. :D

I think it's just human nature to want to look stronger that others or make others feel intimidated by you.

Sometimes I like to dress up and look scary because it makes me feel like a total badass.

It could depend on how you carry yourself. My peers used to not take me seriously at all until two occasions were I got so frustrated that I raised my voice. Mind you, this was at summer camp and I was know as being extremely quiet. When I raised my voice those two times, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me. Then, for the next weeks (It felt like awhile.), they kept bringing it up and they treated me very different. I'd try to strike up a conversation and most of what I would get was thing like: "Wow. You know, you really fooled me. I thought you were a quite person and then you should your true colours." "I'll never see you the same way again." ETC. This really really hurt my feelings. I never lied to them... I just lost my patience and slightly raised my voice. Who wouldn't/couldn't lose their cool in a situation like that? By the way they were going on you would've thought that 1. I had a breakdown and started to destroy everything in my path and 2. That I was screaming. So, you do have to be careful about how you present yourself. Body language is another thing. If you act "submissive" they most likely won't take you seriously. And like someone else said, you should make a complaint if you're being harassed. Good Luck!

I doubt that anyone who saw me would think I was a threat. However a few people have called me intimidating, but it has nothing to do with my appearance. And if you had heard me earlier today, you would have avoided me. I was not very happy.

  • The best way to look like a threat is to make threats. Bombs are always intimidating.

Terrorists are not welcome here. Go back to middle east please.
Oh wait a minute. Our government rolls out the red carpet for them now... Welcome, may I take your bomb-loaded turban?

It's all about eye contact. Try to switch off that part of your brain that allows you to be intimidated. Think of humans like a wolf pack and show these assholes that you've had enough. As my brother used to say "when it comes down to it, it's about who outcrazies who."
    crazy is scary.

Don't do crazy stuff with your hair, I doubt that would look intimidating at all. GAIN WEIGHT! I know that sounds weird but I've come to realize that people with a little more meat on their body are more intimidating. Don't become obese or fat, just a little more. And work out your upper body. Always have a bitch face on, and wear dark makeup. Maybe dye your hair a couple shades darker than it is but don't make it shorter. Walk with swag and act like you just don't give a shit!

You don't need to be threatening, just act confident.
BTW, depending on your work, find out how to submit a formal complaint. Most companies have some process set up. Go to your boss and tell them you want to file a formal complaint. Most bosses want to keep that stuff on the down low so he'll probably promise to fix it as long as you don't file. Sexual harassment or ethnic bullying are BIG no nos, especially if you work place is an EEO. If he doesn't fix it, then you really do need to file a complaint about harassment.

Nothing keeps workplace bullies at bay like a radical haircut.
