I think bobcats are beautiful animals. Yes, I'm fully aware that I can't just run outside, grab one and force it to live with me. I don't actually plan on getting one, haha. I just want to know if it's normal to want one.
I'm with you on that one. I think they're beautiful. Although it's not wise to keep a bobcat, some people do keep Russian Fishing Cats. They don't have the tufted ears but they're definitely different.
Dude, it's not a good idea. I've worked 1-on-1 with large cats in a captive setting, and they DO NOT make good housepets. Try volunteering for a wildlife rescue dealing with cats like the Bobcat, and you will understand why they do not make good pets.
Wild animals are awesome but just watch those horror stories about people who adopted these animals....it's enough to make you want to live close enough to observe them but have no desire to have them as a pet!!
I had an elementary school principal who had a skunk as a pet....he had a never ending nightmare!! It was de-scented and all that, it was just it's nature to tear everything up...
I'm lucky to live in a place where I can observe all sorts of animals but not have them inside (most of the time!!). It's great. I find it a lot of fun to go for hikes and just be surprised and awed by what I get to see in the wild, it takes any desire to keep such animals in/near my home at bay!! Take hikes!!
You know, there are exotic cats that people have as pets. Google Savannah and/or serval. They're beautiful.
It's normal, I still want a swan for a pet. However, a bobcat can be dangerous so how about a Norwegian Forest Cat (I think that's what they're called)?
Sure, they are cute looking. I saw one in the wild once. It was only for a moment though because it ran off into the forest.
I want a panther. Or a cheetah. Cheetas are so cute. :P
More than likely I'll get a fox once I've got some money saved up though. Less expensive and less fear of getting my head clawed off.
