Is it normal that i want a pair of velcro shoes?

I'm in my mid 20s & a fairly style-conscious city dweller, but I have this weird desire to wear ugly velcro sneakers...specifically the $10 Silver Series ones from Walmart. I actually already have a pair in my closet, but am way too nervous about being judged, people thinking I'm a little bit special, etc. to wear them in public. To be fair, they're pretty comfy though:)

In other words, would you be weirded out seeing a 20-something girl walking around in gray old man velcros?

    Just have your cardboard sign asking for help from people when you wear them. And dress frumpy(messy hair, no makeup, and couple of filled plastic bags) and people may give you a donation. Act like a space cadet too.

    I'm a 21 year old woman and I wear velcro shoes every time I go running because I'm scared of tripping over shoelaces. Admittedly I am not fashion conscious AT ALL, but I have never placed my self-worth in clothing. IMHO I think it's a waste of time to be worried about fashion when there are so many more wonderful things to spend time thinking about.

    Like Nike always says - Just do it! :D

    There were a whole group of kids in my high school that wore their "croes" every day! These were not outcast or judged people, these were jocks, and prom queens, and all the people that usually do the judging! We just thought it was funny and we were bored with life. Plus they are pretty damn comfy!

    Don't trust my sense of style (I have none) but I think some of them look kind of futuristic and space age because of the lack of laces. Like these:

    I associate velcro with old people or people with not much taste:/

    If it makes you happy, then go for it, but find some that look "good".

    Hahaha, I actually know what shoes you're talking about. Smh. I don't think I'd wear them personally, but if you really want to, who cares what everyone else thinks?

    You can't say Velcro unless it is Velcro. Its hook and loop tape, just for the record :)
