Is it normal that i wake up at the same time when i dont set my alarm?

Occasionally i am too tired to remember to set my alarm for work. When i do set my alarm, it goes off at 6.15am.

However, when i forget to set it, i ALWAYS wake up at 6:40. I started noticing this pattern a few weeks ago, and have been purposely not setting my alarm some nights. I proably do this just 1-2 times a week, but its always 6:40 i naturally wake up.

is it normal for this to happen?

    I noticed myself doing the same. Furthermore, when I changed my alarm setting (say I had to get up at 4am), I'd naturally wake up about 3:50am. In the end I did away with alarm clocks.

    I also noticed myself knowing what time of day it was before looking at a clock. I don't wear a watch at the moment and all the clocks in my house are wrong because I never reset them after a power cut a year ago. In my house, there's no way to know the time without turning a computer on.

    There are so many natural clues about what time of day it is, even if your body clock is on the fritz, you can still work it out.

    Uh, yes. I wake up literally 5 minutes before my alarm goes off sometimes.im like, woah.

    I usually wake up marginally later if I don't set mine. It's almost as if my brain goes "Oh shit! We missed something!"

    Yeah, I got that too.
    Only problem is: I also set my alarm to 6:15
    but I wake up around 5:50. That gives me time to look at my alarm and think "Crap! it's too early to get up and too late to go back to sleep." And then I lie there depressed until the alarm goes off.

    If I went to bed on time and slept well, I will always wake up 3 mins before my alarm goes off. It means that you are healthy and keep good routine. good for you :)

    it's called your circadian rhythm.

    you don't need to know what time it is, your body does it.
