Is it normal that i wake at 3am all the time?

I can't help it. It's been going on for at least the past 5 or 6 months now and I'm unable to return to sleep until I see the dawn. And if I try to return to sleep at any point in that hour, I'll either have a bad dream, sleep paralysis or feel like I've been asleep for hours when it had only been for literally 5 minutes. What does all this mean? Is it normal?

Thanks to everyone who replied. Fortunately, I don't have this experience much more but still happens from tome to time. Or if I'm not already asleep already, I an't fall asleep during that hour. It's weird but I think I'll be ok.

3 am is the witching hour when paranormal activity is most likely to happen...just so you know.

See a priest or demonologist before you get possessed ... Shit happens...

I would recommend setting your alarm for 230 to see if anything happens at 3 that wakes you up.

Mom use to have trouble with sleeping, always waking up at a certain time... until she was awake before that time. She found out the next door neighbor went to work extremely early in the morning.

It may have started like that for you - something else waking you up. Then as you got use to it your body may have adjusted.

you may find that staying up to 3 am and then going to sleep helps break the chain.

I'm not sure what it means and it sounds unsettling, but you said it would feel like you've been asleep for hours when it's only been a few minutes..isn't that a good thing?

    Normal, but not healthy.
