Is it normal that i've never participated in an online community?

I've never been actively involved in an online community ever. No fanclubs, social networking, fml-esque stuff, nothing. I mean I like tons of things that have online communities like bands and popular movies and stuff but I just never join any online communities. I've never left a comment on any site. I had a twitter account for like a month but then I quit that. Is this normal? I guess I just don't like the feeling of being vulnerable at all, I don't like thinking that someone might judge me for something? Don't get me wrong I read comments and celebritie's twitter accounts and fmls and tflns, I just don't actively participate in any online communities.

    I only tend to post if I stick around long enough to understand the culture, politics and general vibe of a place (I was on IIN three months before even having an account). Most places I don't stick around for three months, so I don't post.

    I don't really do the fansite thing, either. I'm not sure why. I suppose it seems odd to me to be around a bunch of other people who all like the same thing. Closed-minded, almost. I prefer a bit of diversity and I'm always more interested in how people are different. Although I do also like it when I meet someone similar to me but in a diverse area because that, in itself, is also a one-off thing and noteworthy.

    I don't really consider myself part of a community here, but you could say this is the only online community I participate in.

    IIN is, in a sense, the only online community I've ever been deeply involved in. I do have things like tumblr and a youtube, but my involvement in those sites aren't the same as my involvement here.
