Is it normal that i've never had a headache?

When I tell my friends I've never had a headache they usually don't believe me but is there anyone else out there and is it normal not to have had a headache?
Thank you x

I don't get headaches, I don't know why, it might do with the fact that I refuse to take medication for anything! Maybe medication gives you headaches or something, that's probably why I'm immune to them!

I am 43 and I've never had a headache. I've only met one other person who also has never had one. I also very rarely get hangovers which is lucky as I like a drink. Glad so many other people on here haven't had a headache. Yay, I'm not a freak!

I’m 28 and have never had a headache except once when I had a really bad sinus infection. I do get hangovers though and they can be crippling after a night of heavy drinking. When I tell people I don’t get headaches they often say “so you’ve never been hungover?" No, you don’t need to have a headache to have a hangover. There are many other ways to feel like garbage. I have always wondered if there was something wrong with me. Like what if I have a brain tumor inhibiting the reception of pain that occurs in my head or face? I mean I feel pain in my head or face when there is a trauma or some other obvious reason for pain. I feel all other types of pain to a normal degree. I may have a higher pain tolerance than some people but not outside the normal range. Guess I'm just lucky? Not normal, but lucky.

I am 69 years old and have never experienced a headache either! I was wondering if there is anything special about this. No hangovers either! I've had a fever a few times in my life, but no headache.

I am 27, from Nigeria and I have never had headache too. I'm glad I'm not alone. I read an article where a doctor said its normal, and about 5 to 10% of people are like that. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2003-09-12/news/0309120169_1_headaches-real-people-pain

I am 77 years old and have never had a headache and people do not believe me when I tell them.
Also, I have had 2 different root canal procedures on upper teeth without freezing. The dentist was pressed to go ahead against his wishes. The second one was easier for him and uneventful for me.

I too am one of the apparently lucky few who just does not get headaches. And no, my life is not stress-free in the slightest, I work 70+ hours a week at a high stress job and have relationship things going on. I also often do not drink enough water, seldom--if ever--am fully rested and drink red wine. I also feel pain elsewhere in a totally normal way (cramps especially). It never really dawned on me how odd this is until I was talking with a group off co-worker's and the conversation led to one commenting about a client causing headaches which lead to everyone else discussing theirs. Eventually it lead to me and all I could comment was "I think I had one once...it felt like someone was pushing on my forehead for a moment but I'm not sure." This was met with incredulous silence and then one thinking I was joking. It took a little but they finally realized I was telling the truth. My head has hurt if I get a really high fever and I have felt sinus pressure from a sinus infection but I can drink a bottle of cheap red wine and nary an issue with my head--though my stomach might feel different. I have zero light-sensitivity issues and while a client may make my blood pressure rise, I never feel it in my noggin.

I am 57 and I've never had a headache that wasn't attributed to something easily explained (Baseball bat to the head at camp or drop in pressure while descending in a plane when I was congested). If I drink and iced drink fast I do get a brain freeze. I've had muscle aches and pains from sprains and pulled muscles probably starting at about 35 (don't remember having them before). At 35 I learned to take ibuprofen when I do excessive activity. I have always had a stressful job. I drink but don't smoke. I didn't think anything of it most of my life. My wife has horrible migraines and gets headaches under all sorts of conditions. I've just wondered if anyone is studying people that don't get headaches. Why do some people just don't get headaches? Seems like there are others out there. All my brothers and sister get headaches. I don't even know anyone else in my friends and family that can say they don't get headaches. I'm very curious if anyone is looking into what is different about people that don't get headaches.

I'm the same as you mate. I too have never EVER in my entire life had a headache, nor a migraine. I'm 29 years old and it runs in my family. But only on the boys side. Unfortunately my sisters get them from time to time. But your not alone :-) I agree with a previous comment. It must be a genetic mutation. Why hasn't there been a documentary on this? lol. I think its fascinating

How do you know you've never had a headache if you've never had one? It doesn't hurt quite the same as a backache or neck ache, but it's similar enough. I believe it's quite possible to go through life and never have a single headache, but it's sure not normal.

I used to get headaches as often as most people, but I don't think I had one in some 10 years or more. There could be any number of reasons for that, which makes it more difficult to find what it is that seems to have made me totally immune from what had once been a very painful and annoying occurrence.

I will be 55 in May and also have never EVER had a headache. Everyone else that I know has had them. I would assume that it is a good thing and still normal not to have one. We are just among the lucky few.
