I just turned 18 and I've kissed/made out with 48 people - eight of them being girls (I am a girl). Is that a normal number? Is it high? Low? Just curious...
There is nothing wrong with it at all. Your sexuality is nothing for anyone else to judge and has no bearing on your worth as a person. Kiss, fuck, suck, do whatever... just be responsible and true to yourself. Don't be pressured into doing anything that you dont' want to.

well if you had your first kiss at 12, that would mean you, on average, kissed 8 people a year. which seems like, kinda "fast". but there really is no right or wrong answer.
WOW... that is way too many people to be kissing, if it is somewhere around 8 guys a year you've kissed you seem desperate. I mean COME ON... that isn't the highest number, but still you shouldn't be kissing that many people. Stick to one really good person and see how far it goes.

Normal. It wouldn't be normal if that's how many people u slept with ew. If your kissing girls to get attention it's attracting negative attention and u don't want that
I am surprised you are keeping count. If you asked me at 18 how many people I kissed I don't know if I would have been able to give you an honest number. Maybe I could - but it's OK, get your fun and enjoy your love and your life.

When I was 18 I kissed about 40-50 different girls. But this is how I would break it down for ppl that use to be blown back.
Lets say you have your first kiss when you are a freshman in high school. You only have to kiss 1 different person every month to get to the number you are at. So if you partied once a weekend every week (major holidays excluded) only 1/3 parties would you go to that you would kiss someone.
But yes the number of people you have kissed is fairly high. I would recommend letting people get to know you first before you drop the amount of people you kissed on them.
I've kissed 18 boys and I'm 18 LOL. But it really doesn't matter as long as you haven't f* them all.

Clearly you are afraid to progress past kissing and offset your fear by having a high "head" count in the kissing arena. Find a great guy, kiss, kiss again, and then let him show you a few of the sights. You need not bone, but there is so much territory to explore.
That would be good advice, but I've got a great boyfriend right now and the sex is awesome. It's not like I haven't explored other "territory". And I'm also not trying to brag about a number, I was just curious to see how normal it was. But thanks for the input :)
According to thinkingaboutit, kissing 8 people a year when you're young is completely normal. I mean some people have kissed 100s by the time they turn 18, it just depends on how you were raised.

@thebuddah: hell nooo sex with 50 people would be pretty ridiculous. And you're probably right about the girls, although alcohol was a factor in most of those hookups

Ok first of all nice u made out with 48 people that's an accomplishment totally normal but 8 girls and YOUR a girl yea that's something to be ashamed of totally
