Is it normal that i've had a bad taste in my mouth for two years?

It's bitter and gross and I can't kiss anybody.
I've used mouthwash, and it puts the taste on hold, but it always comes back. Flossing and brushing my teeth - all the time - don't change it either, and even if i'm eating or chewing gum it's in the back of my throat!
this has seriously been going on for one year and eight months and i am very unhappy.
has anybody else experienced this?

    Hali-Hali-Halitosis!

    Here's a neat guide:
    http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Bad-breath/Pages/Causes.aspx

To summarise, since it doesn't appear to be caused by bad oral hygiene in your case,

    - "Some types of medication can cause bad breath. Medicines associated with bad breath include:
nitrates - which are sometimes used to treat angina
    some chemotherapy medication
    phenothiazines (tranquilisers)
If the medication you are taking is causing bad breath, your GP may be able to recommend an alternative.

    - Medical conditions

Bad breath is sometimes caused by a medical condition, although this is rare.
Dry mouth, also known as xerostomia, is a condition that affects the flow of saliva. This can cause bacteria to build up in the mouth, leading to bad breath.
Dry mouth can be caused by salivary gland problems or continually breathing through your mouth instead of your nose.
Other medical conditions that can cause bad breath include:
lung, throat or nose infections, such as bronchiectasis
    bronchitis
    sinusitis
    diabetes
gastritis - inflammation of the lining of the stomach and food reflux"

So I recommend you see a doctor! Good luck :)

Excellent response! I feel like a brown noser but I gotta be real and you know your stuff.

This is gross but the other day my sister told me my breathe was stinky and I love brushing and flossing so I was frustrated. Also I would take mints and then later she said it was stinky again. I kinda thought it was related to my acid reflux. I used to take pills for it but now it's pretty much just Tums. Well the other day she had a weird stinky breath smell and it kinda smelled like how acid reflux tastes so I asked her if she had acid reflux and sure enough she did.

So I'm working on trying to change my diet and I guess I'll start taking the acid reducer pills again. This issue is so embarrassing so it's good to hear someone who knows their stuff. All the best to you!

You should try the orabrush. It is the best tongue cleaner ever made. That with mouth wash together.

Have you tried brushing your tongue? A lot of bacteria lives on your tongue and causes bad breath.

Go to the dentist. You could have gingivitis or periodontitis, and that can get nasty.
