Is it normal that i've been in love with this guy for 8 months?

I've been in love with this one guy for 8 months. I know it's really pathetic considering he only considers me as a really good friend. I like being his friend, we text and video chat almost everyday, but he has a girl friend. He knows I like him, but he says he just likes me as a friend. He has said I'm pretty :) I have tried liking other guys to try to forget about him, but I don't think I ever will. Is it normal to like a guy this long and keep liking him even though I know he's probably never going to date me?

    I totally know how you feel! Stay friends of course but don't be too in his face. I think that a lot of guys don't realize what they have,you, until you aren't always there. This could back fire though because it depends on a lot of things like how serious he is with her. Don't be all over him is all that I am saying. You also need to know for sure if you really like him. You can love someone and also be in love with someone. They are two different things. When your in love with someone, that is what's real. I'm in a similar situation. He accepts me for who I am and makes me feel so good about myself when I am around him. I love his personality and his kindness. I love his dorkyness. But what I don't know is if I just love him like a brother or if I am in love with him. You will just know. It's also important if he feels the same about you. In this case he doesn't at the moment. Give him space but don't give up on him!

    What your going through is pretty normal,
    I was going through the same thing for a couple months with this girl. I eventually got over her tho by talking to her less and less :P

    Yes it's normal it's just a crush... Stay his friend in time you'll get better... I've been there before its hard but it's better just to focus on you and your life... Once u ignore them but still remain friends it makes a difference for you and for them you'll see... I've had my crush for almost two years still nothing but I'm over it.... I know that what I felt for him was just something special...you will meet ppl in life like this it's called a true friendship with a man
