I've been with my boyfriend for over 3 years .. It started with instant messages to phone calls to web cam but the thing is he seen me on web cam but his doesn't work and we never met in person so it's kind of hard .. I can't do special things that I like because his camera isn't working so long distance videos and other things are out .. I love him but its hard for my mom to take us serious and it hurts to not be able to see him .. It's bad enough we don't see each other in person

    I would be *very* suspicious about anyone whose webcam was broken for 3 years. Really, really suspicious. If you fear that the first time you see him might be on the Maury Povich show as workers cut a hole in his wall to take his 900-pound bulk to the hospital, it might be time to ask some hard questions about why he hasn't gotten his webcam fixed.

    I personally think you should meet someone that's in your area. Have you ever been on webcam with him and his broke or have you never been on webcam with him? Personally I don't see how you can have a serious relationship with someone you cannot be in contact with physically and it's been 3 years ? For all you know this could be a whatever thing and this guy could be hooking up with other girls or be a completely different person than what he portrays online. You can never know someone if you never spend time in person to get to know how they are/act.

    It can be okay to have a long distance relationship, but hopefully he has sent you pictures of himself? If not, over the course of three years, seems very suspicious. If so, don't worry about it too much and try and enjoy your time together. Maybe get him to buy a new webcam?
