All strangulation is inherently risky. Cutting off the blood supply to the brain can result in brain damage, a heart attack or a stroke. There's no way you can know if you have a cerebrovascular weakness which could result in you having a bleed on the brain due to increased blood pressure when you restrict the veins in your neck, and recovering from a stroke ain't sexy at all.
