Is it normal that i use the same words every time i tell a story

If I tell a story or a joke and it is received well, then the next time I tell it I use the exact same words as I did the first time. It's like a recitation.

    I think they mean they tell the joke with the same words and way not to the same people lol. And yeah it's normal I would say
