Is it normal that i try to avoid using the toilet at guys houses?

When I go to guys houses I don't like using their toilet because it is always in my mind that they might hear me. I have no problems using public toilets (although I used to avoid school bathrooms until about year 9/10) or my girl friends toilets but with guys it just seems like a big thing to me. I am talking about peeing here by the way. I would never poop at someone else's house/in pubic toilets.

I have even waited until a guy was asleep once and one time I put the tap on at the same time (although this was obvious..)
