Is it normal that i trolled people via facebook?
I use an alias for my email accounts, and Facebook decided to automatically generate a profile using one of my fake names. I forgot the profile even existed for a while, but then I noticed that five or so people had added 'me' as a friend. I accepted all the requests, chose the face below as my profile picture, and chose a photo of a woman in bikini as my cover image (just to add to the weirdo persona).
That done, I 'liked' all the photos of one of my new friends, and 'poked' another repeatedly just to see their reactions. I'm ashamed to say I found it pretty amusing.
Things got out of hand when I added a mutual friend, and told her that I was a retired english teacher in Hong Kong who was keen to maintain contact with the UK. I even fabricated a bunch of WW2 anecdotes, which were all received with admiration. Our correspondence continued for a while, but then my cover was blown when I forgot to turn off the location sensor, and "England" appeared under one of my messages. The girl freaked out, so I told her the story of my fake profile in an attempt to reassure her that I was harmless, but she kept swearing at me and even threatened to call the police. My account was promptly deleted.
Has anyone else trolled over Facebook, and is it normal that I did this?
