Is it normal that i treat spiders this way?

I don't have a phobia about spiders but I don't especially like them crawling around my place. One very large spider (almost too big to be trapped under a pint glass) keeps finding their way back into my flat. I have ejected it four times and within six hours, it is in my bathroom again. I don't believe in killing animals but I don't want this one in my bathroom. I have tried releasing it further from my flat, but it still came back. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Go like, a kilometre away and see if it comes back. Thats one creepy spider.

    If it's not doing any harm, but you don't want it roaming, keep it as a pet. :P Buy a 10 gallon fish tank, and go buy supplies:P Name it harry lol

    There are some good environmentally friendly insect repellants that you could spray around your windows, doors, or other areas you think they are coming in. However, spiders aren't all bad - they eat other bugs.

    Throw them out the window if you can get the screen off.

    And make sure they are completely out of the glass/container.

    it depends on the spider. some good spiders keep the bad ones away and they are the ones that i let inside with me. even though we swallow an average of 10 in our lives while we are sleeping.

    Squash that sucker! You say you don't believe in killing animals, but cities spray for mosquitoes, insects and worms that destroy plants have to be poisoned, and animals are killed for food and leather to make shoes, etc.

    I agree! ^ just kill it! So creepy! What if it just keeps coming back so it can bite you?! You are going to wake up with it in your face or waiting for you in your shoe! I really hate spiders!

    Yeah Spiders don't live if I find them in the house. Either I get the courage to kill them or I send my man after them lol. Kill them!

    It's extremely distinctive and almost seems to have a raison d'etre so I'm pretty sure it's the same spider. I started by throwing it out of the window, then locking all the windows, but it got back in (air outlet for bathroom extractor fan, perhaps). I tried throwing it onto the third floor roof, but it got back again. Finally, I took it to the end of the road (about 200m) and put it in a bush, but it was back again in the morning. Maybe it's a homing spider, or something.

    Insect repellant is a good suggestion but I'd have to order it from another country because we don't generally have insect problems here. Thanks, all.
