Is it normal that i think uniform laws are stupid?

I hate how you hear how a town's school district or whatever is forcing a Uniform Code. I know that they're just trying to upkeep Modesty and whatnot but it's stupid. It's stupid because:

1) It doesn't give freedom of choice (As long as the kids are wearing decent clothing then it should be no problem and uniforms shouldn't be required)

2) It's not unique or interesting.
and
3) It's forcing unessessary Work-Drone and Censorship onto young students (even Preschoolers must wear uniforms now)

This is interesting, because in my country almost all schools have enforced uniforms. Until I was 16, I wore a uniform in school every day. My brother will wear a uniform until he is 18. For that reason, I find it hard to buy the argument that it stifles individualism. In my experience it doesn't do this at all - it's just mildly annoying for kids to wear and expensive for parents to buy. I don't strongly support the idea of uniform either. It seems like a bit of a non-issue to me. Not as important as people think it is.

You must not have that great of a personality then if your individuality is solely based on the cloth you wear.

I like school uniforms because it boosts school spirit, a sense of belonging to the school, students spend less time what to wear to school, school uniforms are affordable, students don't get bullied as often and it is good for your future career because police officers, soldiers, shop assistants, sports teams, etc. wear uniform to work.

I like uniforms. Uniforms mean we are all the same. In a uniform people cant judge you on money since you all paid the same amount for the same uniform. It takes out the hassle of having to dress yourself and its way cheaper than buying regular clothes. You can also wear it multiple times and it not look weird. Uniforms are very convenient and they put us all on the same level. I wished my school would have had uniforms. buying 5 uniforms for 60$ each vs buying a 7 outfits for 120 each is way easier.

For me the whole concept of uniforms are so weird.

Whilst in the work industry very few people get to dress exactly the way they want, why not let school children have this freedom to express themselves for as long as possible? I remember when I started to find my own style and refused to let my mother pick out the clothes for me.

To me, a lot of my expression is in my clothes and my make-up and I feel ...naked when I can't dress the way I want.

People who claim that it removes some bullying are just retarded, a Bully will ALWAYS find a reason to pick on you. I was singled out because I am tall and skinny, a friend of mine because she's short and chubby. I got bullied BEFORE I started to wear the clothes I wanted to school. Me dressing in all black and wearing more make-up than Marilyn Manson obviously did not help my cause but it gave me strength.

Uniforms have the huge psychological effect of homogenizing the group, especially school uniforms.
It is a very common way for governments to restrict individuality and free thinking. I have seen it in many countries and it works very effectively. I would never allow a child of mine to go to a school that had uniforms.

I'm always dumping in my pants so just ruining a uniform would be preferred

I feel that they stifle individuality at ages a kid is supposed to be figuring out who they are. Once they're old enough to pick out their own clothes anyway.

Modest dress codes are anothe story though. It's hard enough for a middle school boy with raging hormones not to make a bad decision without having newly developed tits in their face for 8hrs a day.
