Is it normal that i think the world we live in is not "real"

This might sound really crazy, in fact I ask myself why do I even post it but here it goes:

Last night I was thinking and asking myself this question "what am I and why am I me". To explain what I mean try to imagine what would happen if you haven't born. Who would you become, or who would you be. Where would you be ?

My though is that you would eventually get born as someone else resulting in you not being you, leading me to the fact that you exist as some entity in some "body" and if that "body" dies you end up in another body or something like that.

I am not exactly sure how else could I explain this but I keep asking myself this question since I am 3. If I asked this thing in public at age of 18 everybody would think I am crazy or retarded.

I would like to know if I am eventually getting crazy, or asking something that everybody does ?

Normal. When I was a child, I came up with a question similar to yours - what if there was no universe? There would be nothing. How would you imagine "nothing" ? Mind = blown.

There is no "you" before you are conceived and born. The question of what would have happened to you if you weren't conceived makes no sense, because there was no "you" for anything to happen to! Unless you are thinking supernaturally, in which case everything becomes murky and impossible to decipher.

I think it is normal to hold beliefs that aren't "mainstream".

  • I have also thought about this as well. **Beware narrow minded comments are coming**

There is no gaurantee that anything is real. Personally I believe we all have our own realities that may or may not be the same as anyone else's.
