Is it normal that i think that i choose the ugliest pets?

I went to a pet store to buy my first puppy 3 years ago, and there were so many adorable labradors, retrievers and Shiba dogs, but I just loved this one pug that looked really depressed and looked like its eyes were both closed.
It wasn't the cutest but I picked that one, I have no idea why! All the little puppies looked like angels and most people might prefer adorable puppies but I picked that pug...is that normal?

        Awe, Pugs are cute when they snort and they snore too. It's the punched in face thing.

      I know but it wasn't a normal pug--I mean it was cute but not the normal kind :)

              Well I never really got to see his eyes since they look sorta squished. I'm pretty sure he has both eyes though.
              His name is Dusty but not to offend him. Once you see Dusty you're going to think "WOW HE'S DIRTY" but what you're staring at is his natural fur color x)
              It doesn't bother me at all though. I am proud of him. I was just wondering if people think the same about choosing the most unusual pets, and I have gotten mostly positive feedback. And of course the 1 hidden one was very bad language lol :P

    Pugs look funny anyway. They aren't quite right. Neither are boston terriers.

    I have a thing for pets with abnormalities. I work at petsmart and one of my favorite dogs there has just one eye. Another dog I like is missing a leg. My pet bearded dragon is missing 3 fingers in the middle of its hand. Ive liked numerous animals with personality and behavioral abnormalities as well. Pets that look perfect and adorable are cute but are not as special as pets with something different about them. Its probably self reflection. Basically how you see yourself is what makes u relate to the pet.

    I always get the weirdest one too. The day I got my lizard, he was the first one I noticed since he kept leaping around, trying to get out, and bashing his snout against the glass, while the others sat calmly and just chilled. His face is all fucked up and he has gaps where his lips should cover his teeth, so there's a weird contrast with his beautiful colors and shape.
