I think pot should be legal I have smoked for years with no bad effects. You can still function unlike drinking and it is better than prescription drugs for depression. There are bad drugs out there pot isn't one of them.
pot should be legal. also free. also they should force you to smoke it. also cakes are good.
Abtanazahx - I'm sure you were kidding when you wrote "they should force you to smoke it." It's a great plant, but people should be aloud to discover on their own.
If marijuana was legalized, the government wouldn't make much money off of the sale of a "weed" that can be easily grown in someone's backyard - it's not the same as cigarettes or alcohol. They could, however, make money off of selling permits to grow and produce it.

Marijuana is illegal where I'm from (so sad) and I smoke the right amount for me, and if it were legalized, I'd still smoke the same amount, only I'd grow my own plant in my own home and not worry about going to jail for it.
I smoke and I love it. However....I am of a different mind set. Not everyone smokes on a regular basis and therefore doesn't know how they handle it. I've smoked with people who cannot concentrate for more than ten seconds on a task. I've smoked with people who fall asleep very easily. And I've smoked with people who completely lack focus altogether. This is all good fun and no big deal...until these people get behind the wheel of a car.
Weed does affect people differently. Some people can focus and drive just fine and others can't. Especially when people first start, the tolerance level is not there. Personally I won't drive after smoking because even though my tolerance is high I know I wouldn't drive well.
This is the only thing that prevents me from being with the masses and agreeing that it should be legal. All it takes is one person to who cant handle it....
Otherwise I'd be all for it.

How many stories have you heard of someone overdosing on smoking too much weed ? When you smoke too much you don't get higher unlike other man made drugs so it should be legal
Why stop at pot? Most illegal drugs are as dangerous as they are BECAUSE they're illegal. Forcing production and distribution into the hands of gangsters who have no reason to care about the safety of their customers doesn't help anyone. Most addictions would probably be affordable without black market premiums of up to 500 times the cost of the goods, so removing the incentive to steal to support a habit.
Nobody ever came out and said, "please pass a law so I can be forced to stop doing something I shouldn't be doing," no, it's always "please pass a law to force them to stop doing something that I don't like."
I completely agree with you 100%!! I have depression, anxiety and OCD, and I find pot works soooooo much better than any of the drugs they put me on in the past! It totally should be legalized! More people need to watch "The Union." Such an awesome documentary.
New Zealand would have a much lower crime rate if like Amsterdam, it introduced the legalization of marijuana. However, to keep it under control, all they'd have to do is tax it and make it only sold in adult store (sex stores, etc).
Of every drug, pot is the least harmful to the body. It is far better than alcohol, and doesn't impair a person as much. The only reason it is not legal is due to age-old superstitions about weed, as well as dealers who make shit loads of money by keeping it illegal. Other than that, I vouch for it to be legal. It isn't destructive and violent providing like alcohol. I personally don't smoke it, but yes, it should be legal.
