Is it normal that i think of the child i aborted?

Sometimes, for no reason at all, I'll picture my life and myself with the 20 year-old child I never had. I wonder if it would have been a male or female, what they would have looked like, their personality, how they would be doing in life, and the kind of life we would have had. I have no regrets and don't feel sad about it but I do wonder what it would have been like.

Thoughts?

I feel the same 8

Never had an abortion (also to prospective fathers) 61

So sad. You could have a full grown child now but we just don't seem to value life anymore which is a real shame.

It's very normal to wonder 'what if'. Life is full of decisions. It's easier to dwell on the ones you haven't made. Well, for me it is.

I'd say yes, it's very normal.

Its very common for people to wonder what things would be like if they chose another outcome in those really big choices. Sometimes people regret their decision and wonder if that would have been the right one. Or merely out of idle curiosity either way its a pretty normal function that appears even on a subconscious level.

I can't believe that. I just can't. Even I find it quite saddening just reading your account.

I've never had an abortion, but I think it would be totally normal to think about what might have been.

I dont see why you care now. You made the choice to get rid of it and now you have to deal with it. I would say just move on because at this point there is nothing you can do to change it. Its not like you have a time traveling device and you can go back in time. Yeah it could have been a boy or a girl and it could have had a life. Its dead though and that is your problem. As they say "No use in crying over spilt milk".

She said she didn't have regrets, she just wonders about it. That's normal.
