Is it normal that i think it wouldnt be bad if the world ended

If the world ended (Instantly)
Why would that be bad?
No one would suffer
But no one would feel joy
but why should people suffer for the sake of those who enjoy lives
when everyone could just disappear forever
If the world ended
No one would be suffering, however no one would be happy
But if the world didnt blow up, there would be
People Suffering and People Happy
Is that worth it??
1 Person suffering for every 100 people happy (way too many I think but sure)
7 billion people in world
Which would mean 700,000,000 people are suffering and the other 6,300,000,000 people are happy

Why should 700,000,000 people suffer when the world could just end so no one could suffer
Tried to do math along those lines, sorry if my ideas are confusing, just copied and pasted from a journal entry I wrote back a while ago.
I would love to hear feedback about this.

I agree with little_freak; we actually need suffering to realize the ultimate truth, whatever that may be. Also, I don't know about others, but I've often found that sufferings bring a weird kind of happiness when i look back at it from the future, relishing the thought that "it'll never happen again".

    I agree and I think it's even a lot more than 1%

People are always going to suffer. Many of us on IIN probably feel we have suffered (and we have, albeit sometimes - but not always - in a first world way).

If only 1% of the world was suffering, I'd be overjoyed because that kind of thing is easily fixable (without ending the world). Unfortunately, I think those of us lucky enough to have the lives we do really underestimate the suffering in the world.

Well over a billion people live in absolute poverty. "Absolute" poverty doesn't mean "poor". It means lacking basic needs like food and water or a place to live. We talk about overpopulation but we're hardly at the sharp end of it. I don't think it's naive or stupidly optimistic to believe we "could" fix the suffering of the majority. If we had the will, we "could".

I'm glad you posted this and I'm glad I got the chance to answer. I don't do enough personally and I should do more. It's made me think.

In the end you'll realize suffering is not such a terrible thing. It's not the end of the world, if you don't mind me saying, it's just a part of life.
