Is it normal that i think is it normal users can/will change the world?

Ever since I joined Is It Normal about a year ago, I've noticed that a lot of the users on here are fairly intelligent and can make a difference in this world. I aspire that these users will come together and make this a better world. The people on here are friendly and helpful. At least some people are. This might be a dumb post but I was wondering.

By the way, has anyone seen dappled lately? He was like the best user on this site but I haven't seen anything from him since I made that one post. Oh dappled where have you gone. I have cookies for you

            Grrrar! I don't mind pretending to be a chicken or eating a raw onion because I've been hypnotised into thinking it's an apple, but the moment my pants come off I'll... I'll... well, I'll be hypnotised so I guess I'll do whatever you want.

    nobleserpent is that you? Regardless, I'll still reply.

    I have noticed that a lot of the users on here are intelligent and capable of changing the world. However, that would be no easy task. We would all have something to contribute to the change but that still doesn't mean that we would agree on the future that we want to create. Personally, if there was a change that I would love to see, it would be a change in the way people act towards one another and especially how the government treats its citizens. But people will still be unhappy with the change that would be brought about. Not everybody is going to love the future, everyone loves to be a critic. The only ones who I believe can change the future, and I'm necesarily saying that it will be for the better, are the pragmatists. Engineer, scientists, and innovators, those are the people will bring about change. Technology is seems to be the fuel that powers society. Technology will be the change that develops in a modern society, and with the people will change. From observation, technology acts as a detriment to the morality of society. Stagnation can actually be the answer but that's just my opinion. It's too late to make a utopia, the best an individual can do now is make sure that society does not replace him with a counterpart version of himself who personifies the folly of society. A person should be nice to his fellow man and try to spread his beliefs onto his offsprings in the hope that they will carry on the, hopefully wise, doctrines of their progenitors.

    Dappled sadly left. He was one of the best users on here and I hope he makes a comeback:)

    I think us users could contribute to making the world a better place. Who knows? One of us could find the cure for aids or pioneer space travel. We can all make a contribution. Even by coming on this site, we are making a contribution.

    It's normal to think highly of people, also, dappled left about 4 months ago (give or take).

    Lol a lot of posts lately have been about the people here. And Simon did come back for a short time, but I don't think he'll be back again. But he did say he lurks occasionally, so he's sorta here in spirit :)

      I think we should all aspire to making a positive contribution to the world in our own little way. I would like my epitaph to be "It was always to our advantage to know her." It may not have been pleasureable coz I can push people hard but in the end it is for their own benefit.

      I missed Simon's last post and even his re-visit as my son was doing exams and I was absent at the time. When I went to search for it, it had been deleted. I wish he would come back as times have changed and IIN is not as nasty anymore.
