Whenever I have to buy shoes I'm always irritated by how over-styled every single pair is. All shoes are for is to protect your feet! I don't understand why anybody would pay more for fancy looking shoes. Because, duh, who's going to be staring at my feet anyway?
I admit I love shoes but I go more for sneakers and flip flops, never heels.
But it is true people never pay attention to shoes.
This post made me think about the part in Shawshank Redemption where Andy (the main character) gets away with taking the warden's shoes because nobody noticed him wearing the warden's shiny polished shoes.
Also my roomie has gotten away multiple time of not wearing shoes at the college we go to. She went barefoot just yesterday in the concourse, its where the cashiers and records are; she really didn't mean to go barefoot though. She was halfway to the college before she realized she was barefoot. lol

Most women love shoes and every one looks at your shoes if you are out for the night!
I love love love shoes!! In fact, I could wear the same dress every weekend as long as I wore different shoes. I have gorgeous shoes and buy at least one new pair of fancy shoes every single week, many I only wear once which cracks my husband up a bit. But tough! They are my art and I would rather look at them than a painting.

So tell me, does this strange shoe fascination extend to men's shoes? Or do you only stop to admire the shoes of other women?
No - I don't care what men wear except, I notice gorgeous brown borgues on men but nothing else.
I would have no hesitation walking up to a girl I've never met to ask her where she bought her shoes.
I don't think it's a strange fascination. Men like stiletto heels too. My pet hate is big chunky heels on women.
I love shoes! If I had the money I'd have about 500 pairs!!! I can't imagine not liking pretty shoes XD x
I understand that. They are so fancy that I don't even want to wear them. After all, they're just going to be rubbed and stomped all over the ground anyway.
I actually understand where you're coming from..people have gotten so superficial.
I'm all for comfort. Fancy shoes are NOT comfortable. I'll take my sneakers and flip flops any day over heels.
I'm willing to pay more for comfort, regardless how fancy the shoes are.
And it just so happens that my fancy shoes are my most expensive, but also my most comfortable pair of shoes.
Well OK, yeah. But my point is that even as a method to show off/look nice/what have you, shoes are pretty useless because they're at the opposite end of your body from where people normally look.
Or are there way more foot fetishists out there than I realize? Or perhaps really shy people are the target audience? Or babies?
I just don't get why a normal person would spend enough time looking at my feet to care what I wear on them.
