Is it normal that i think black conservatives are race traitors?

I cannot fathom why members of my own race would even buddy up with the Republican Party. It's sickening. Do they not know about derogatory remarks made by white Republicans every day? Republicans don't even respect black people. It's even worse when it's a conservative black woman! Is it normal I think conservative blacks are traitors?

Your comments are both ignorant and insensitive. It was actually Republicans who fought for blacks to obtain freedom and democrats who fought to keep them as slaves in the times of the Civil War.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Frankly, there are somethings that people are conservative on, like crime, and then there somethings that people are liberal on, like weed. It really just depends on which side covers your beliefs more. If you actually take a look at the Obama administration that ran for his first term, you'd see that he really hasn't done a lot actually, granted that his speeches are brilliant, but our Congress is too divided for him to do a lot.

Perhaps some people want to give conservatives a shot, since they are currently the majority in Congress. Perhaps more work would get done. Conservatives mainly help business owners and upper middle class Americans, so if you're black and American capitalism has worked in your favor then it makes sense that you'd want to keep your wealth. Some conservatives can be crackpots who are anti gay and anti birth control though, but still people would rather look after themselves than their fellow man.

Race does not define a person, it comes off as rather racist that you believe it does. As SuperBenzid said, "Would that make white conservatives, race loyalists?" We aren't defined by our race and people are entitled to their own opinion. If the Obama administration hasn't worked the way a black voter expected it to, then it's his choice to see how a republican would run America. But either ways, there are no race traitors, only people who want their country to be ran by a certain party and have the choice to vote otherwise if their well-being or country has not reached their expectations by the next election.

You should take a hard look at what liberal policies have done to the black community. Look at the history of the Democratic Party: slavery, the KKK, segregation, opposition to the Voting Rights Act. Lastly, listen to what Republicans actually say - aside from a few birther crackpots, you're going to hear talk about lower taxes, greater freedom, better schools, and nothing at all about race.

"You should take a hard look at what liberal policies have done to the black community. Look at the history of the Democratic Party: slavery, the KKK, segregation, opposition to the Voting Rights Act."

...do you base all of your current social policies off of history lessons?

No. I think there are a lot of other reasons to vote Republican. But if you're going to call anyone a race traitor, it's got to be the black people who are cozying up to the party that fought and died to keep their forefathers in chains.

Foolish retort. Knowing your history empowers the now.

I disagree. The democrat and republican party disagree on many issues, but racism is not really much of an issue in either party these days. Taxes, money distribution, gay marriage, capital punishment, etc. have very little to do with race and it's racist to tell a black person which party to identify with.
Also, back in the day, when racism was the law of the land, the democrats were pro-slavery and the republicans were abolitionists. Abraham Lincoln was a republican.
With that said, that was about 150 years ago and water under the bridge...don't be racist about politics, okay?

"Paint us not all with the same brush". Yeah, there's stereotypes, but there's also good & bad people on BOTH ends of spectrum. Food for thought

Personally I disagree with the terminology race traitor because people are individuals not defined by their skin color but I do understand what you are saying. For the most part I would say that black conservatives are betraying the community they come from and give cover to the bigotry found in the conservative movement. Still they aren't traitors because you don't inherently owe loyalty to your ethnicity and it is possible they are motivated by good intentions anyway. I think for the most part they are just misguided people that have bought into propaganda.

Both parties offer propaganda, and in all fairness anybody that buys into both parties can be considered misguided.

It's an interesting idea that republicans are white supremacists and democrats are poor black workers. There certainly seems to be a wealth divide between supporters of each party and, in your country (I'll assume USA) this has also taken in a divide on the colour of skin (for reasons that could fill ten books).

It happens where I live too (to a lesser extent on skin colour, although that happens) but more on class. To transpose your post to my country, it would imply that I'm a class traitor if I voted Conservative. And where I come from, that really is the case, yes. I have to admit, I'm so steeped in it that it would cross my mind to judge someone from either of our backgrounds voting Republican/Conservative.

I'm not sure it's right but at least we're honest about it.

There are plenty of poor conservatives. I say they are just screwing themselves.

Oh, of course. If I say one group are traditionally poorer, I don't mean every single member of the group is poorer than the poorest member of another group. That only works with small numbers.

There are poor conservatives here too. I know most people don't vote for an ideology and just vote for whatever is most profitable so in some ways poor conservatives and rich people with left-wing ideologies should be lauded, but it feels kind of odd, doesn't it?
