Hallo guys. First thing you please excuse my english i am from Romania here come to the US to finish the school. A friend from college invite me to party so i go. At this party they were dancing listening to music so i dance, and i dance and dance.
Then I stop and stare and I dont understood why but they line up cups on table and bring out ze golf balls and start throwing balls on cups and drink and throw balls again and and do this whole night, La naiba! i tell my friend why this is so STUPID why come americans have fun this way he tell me this is how america partys. I say no this is not normal, in Romania we club we party nightclub all night listen house music here no here you listen to garbaje

So i ask ppl here who party alot people do beer pong to party but i think its really really stupid throw balls in cup on a table it doesnt make sense and i looking for hoonest answers please no silly jokes

    Not all Americans play beer pong, it's silly I suppose for others who are outside of America. Perhaps it's the fact that they are tipsy, drunk, or shitfaced while playing it so the others will laugh and think it's hilarious as well as being the three options I mentioned.

    i love beer pong. it's fun to me like any sport like basketball would be fun to a basketball player. Granted basketball is pretty boring and stupid, but beer pong is really fun, or at least if you are good at it.
    what's a freaking stupid type of drinking game that americans play is ones where you dont even do anything, and just have to drink based on something that happens. Like a card game where what card you draw dictates how much you have to drink, or watching tv shows and drinking every time they say something.

      americans from my living here are very very impatient and agressive. i saw man by freeway asking for money for spare a begger and when i stop at red light i look for change to give to this man i wave my arms to come here. he comes and i give him money. light turns green and im waiting for man to walk away i dont go. the cars behind me all begin to yell at me say things i dont understand. but it wasnt wait too long they were not patient they yell at me very loud. but i was giving man money! i help this man.

      In romanaia we never become so impatient over somethng very very little people romania are help each other more here americans dont like to help each other

    It's not so much the throwing of the balls into the cups that's fun to the people, it's the drinking that goes along with it.

    Whenever they got a ball into a cup, they drank the contents, right?

      Da..they drank the beer in cups but the beer was sititng there for long long time. the beer was warm not cold,; beer is drink to be cold! not warm. game lasted for hours, la noice! warm beer:(

      zey looked very excited to be throwing balls on cups and i think IS JUST STUPID BALL AND CUP i dont get it!

        Well, it's the same with most games and sports. Most sports revolve around getting a ball into a certain area so why is this different? I can understand not liking it yourself (I don't either), but it's not really that different than basketball and soccer's not that far off.

        Also, if the beer is warm, it probably doesn't taste too good, so it's a good incentive not to lose.

          no no no soccer le football is not same there is no beer they put in cup to drink after goal the beer is cold when they drink after celebration for win not warm sit on cup:(

            I have played it but I don't actually drink so it's a bit different. I just drink energy drinks instead.

            As to the point about the beer being cold, it really shouldn't be. It may just be that the people playing were terrible at it. A normal game takes 20 minutes at the most so the beer would still be cold.

            Also, the beer for after football or soccer is celebratory. In beer pong, it's somewhat of a punishment. It's just there to make it harder to aim and truthfully to give a reason to get drunk for many.

    That's not how I played beer pong. I actually used the paddle to hit the ball in the cup. But truthfully, most drinking games are kind of stupid.

    In the summer, my neighbors like to play "you honk, we drink." They sit in the front yard with a sign and when a car honks, they drink. Sometimes it turns into "you honk, we dance."

    Personally, I don't like clubbing. It's loud and impersonal. I prefer parties in an actual home. But that's me.
