Is it normal that i think about killing myself/others for no reason?

You all know that feeling when you suddenly think about super random? Well, It's pretty much the same, but with killing people. Like, I could for example be eating at a restaurant with a friend, then suddenly my mind could jump to assaulting him with the fork in my hand. I never act out any of these situations, but they feel pretty real. I always feel super bad afterwards.

EDIT: Well, it's obviously not normal. Vote yes if you also have these thoughts, and please write in the comments what you do about them (if anything).

It's called "intrusive thoughts". They usually go hand in hand with OCD or other anxiety disorders. I used to get them really bad, but one of my meds, an antipsychotic, reduced the frequency and intensity of the thoughts.

Well I am glad I deiced to read this post carefully. I tend to have thoughts like this to. Why I hate being around shop objects as I have the image of what would happen with them. Part of why I am so cautious.

I believe this might either be a sign of a paranoid disorder or else OCD(Axiety disorder). There is a type of OCD that has intrusive obsessive thoughts along with other things. There is different kinds of OCD and not everyone has all of them at once. For example repitive rituals, intrusive thoughts, clean/germophobe. All different types.

I would say consult a real doctor but for minor things like this is seems doctors just want to cash out vs really helping a patient. I would try if possible finding a teacher or someone who works in HR and ask them about it. Do not mention its about you, say you have a cousin/son/elderly relative.

I must also tell you that while OCD is considered an anxiety disorder it does stem from parinoa. People do things because they have a delusion that something bad might happen if they do not perform these tasks. Sometimes this is to a minor or a major degree. Such as "If I dont clean my hands I will catch a plague and die". Now sometimes these ideas are true, but for someone with OCD they can sometimes be a little more severe and the fear more exaggerated.

OCD also like things to be a certain way and often Autism is misdiagnosed as OCD, and people with OCD diagnosed as AUTISTIC. Now as a child you are more likely to be diagnosed with Autism since while OCD does happen to children for whatever reason doctors dont seem to take into consideration testing it during the child years. I dont understand why they would entirely cross it off the list since there is kids who have been diagnosed with OCD as young as 4.

I hope this helps you. No, it does not seem normal but this is all I can give you based on the limited information and all the knowledge I personally have.

If you are okay with spending the rest of your life in prison or dead, you could ask your friend if he would like to find 22 other people and you could both have a Hunger Games.

Just don't act on them, you can't control your thoughts or how you feel.
