Is it normal that i think a cat is obsessed with me?

ok so my aunt brought home a cat she found on the street and hes been living with us for a week now but i think hes really weird like for example he sleeps downstairs and i LOCK my bedroom door(im upstairs) but i wake up with him either on my dresser or on the floor starring at me and he has his mouth open but nothing comes out and hes not yarning cus he does it like 2 minutes straight without closing. hes there when im brushing my teeth (starring and doing the mouth thing) hes everywhere but my aunt takes care of him shouldn't he be close to her??? anyways am i paranoid or is this not normal

    A lot of cats are doglike, it just means the cat likes you. They choose who they like it doesn't always make sense. Maybe you smell really, really good to a cat.

    Cats mostly like the people who give them the least attention. Not exactly because they want to be left alone, but because other people sometimes force their affection on the cat and try to take care of him when he doesn't want it. Those who don't care about the cat, on the other hand, are not associated with unwanted care so cats like those people more than their "owners". At least that's what I noticed at several houses...

    That's just a cat thing. I've had 5 at one point and they got weird just like that, especially at night.
